Classes of quadratic assignment problem instances: isomorphism and difficulty measure using a statistical approach

چکیده
In this work, we introduce the variance expression for quadratic assignment problem (QAP) costs. We also de;ne classes of QAP instances, described by a common linear relaxation form. The use of the variance in these classes leads to the study of isomorphism and allows for a de;nition of a new di"culty index for QAP instances. This index is then compared to a classical measure found in the literature. ? 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Communities of Minima in Local Optima Networks of Combinatorial Spaces
In this work we present a new methodology to study the structure of the configuration spaces of hard combinatorial problems. It consists in building the network that has as nodes the locally optimal configurations and as edges the weighted oriented transitions between their basins of attraction. We apply the approach to the detection of communities in the optima networks produced by two differe...
متن کاملTwo classes of Quadratic Assignment Problems that are solvable as Linear Assignment Problems
The Quadratic Assignment Problem is one of the hardest combinatorial optimization problems known. We present two new classes of instances of the Quadratic Assignment Problem that can be reduced to the Linear Assignment Problem and give polynomial time procedures to check whether or not an instance is an element of these classes. © 2011 Elsevier B.V. متن کاملA Honey Bee Algorithm To Solve Quadratic Assignment Problem
Assigning facilities to locations is one of the important problems, which significantly is influence in transportation cost reduction. In this study, we solve quadratic assignment problem (QAP), using a meta-heuristic algorithm with deterministic tasks and equality in facilities and location number. It should be noted that any facility must be assign to only one location. In this paper, first o...
متن کاملClustering of Local Optima in Combinatorial Fitness Landscapes
Using the recently proposed model of combinatorial landscapes: local optima networks, we study the distribution of local optima in two classes of instances of the quadratic assignment problem. Our results indicate that the two problem instance classes give rise to very different configuration spaces. For the so-called real-like class, the optima networks possess a clear modular structure, while...
متن کاملUsing Greedy Randomize Adaptive Search Procedure for solve the Quadratic Assignment Problem
Greedy randomize adaptive search procedure is one of the repetitive meta-heuristic to solve combinatorial problem. In this procedure, each repetition includes two, construction and local search phase. A high quality feasible primitive answer is made in construction phase and is improved in the second phase with local search. The best answer result of iterations, declare as output. In this stu...
